17th - Monceau
Within easy reach of the business districts lies this peaceful, residential part of Paris.
Its calm atmosphere has long been a pull factor for many Parisian families.
Much of the distinctly grandiose architecture is the result of investment by the Pereire brothers during the 19th century,
which helped to create the luxurious mansions for which the area is known today.
Another of the area’s main attractions is the Parc Monceau, a small, picturesque park which remains off many tourists’ radars.
The park is immortalised in the paintings of artists such as Monet and Caillebotte.
Restaurants: Its location, in the well-heeled 17th arrondissement,
means that Monceau is by no means short of Michelin starred restaurants.
However, there do remain many interesting options for those looking for a less formal dining set-up.
